History of Carol Ann's Dance Studio, LLC:

Carol Ann's Dance Studio began in the basement of Carol Ann Marlinga's home in Kawkawlin, Michigan in September of 1972. She was a native of Detroit and studied under Frances Wadsworth and Ruth Carney. She had also passed her Cecchetti ballet exams I through IV and was a 50 year member of both Dance Masters of Michigan and Dance Masters of America. She was the Dance Masters of Michigan Chapter 4 honoree in November of 2005. Almost exactly one week after watching her 35th year of recitals in May of 2006, Miss Carol lost her battle to Mesothelioma lung cancer. Her vision and love of dance are what the studios continue to focus on today.

The Kawkawlin studio eventually found a new home in Pinconning and is currently housed in an over 100 year old church. Both the West Branch and Tawas studios have been in business for over 20 years.  Most of the staff have been with the studio for over 10 years and all of the instructors believe in continuing their education in the fields of dance and gymnastic instruction yearly.

In December of 2006, Miss Adrienne (Gallagher), Miss Carol's youngest daughter, purchased the studios and shortly after, in October of 2007, Miss Teri (White) joined her as a partner. Both are members of Dance Masters of Michigan and Dance Masters of America and are United States of America Gymnastic safety certified. Together they strive to keep Miss Carol's legacy alive and promote and encourage the education of dance and gymnastics throughout the northeastern part of Michigan.
